Make Your Own Fairy Garden
Making a fairy garden is so much fun! There are many different ways to make them and you can find supplies that fit your interests. The process is pretty straight forward; choose a container, some plants, add some rocks from outside, and then place your fairy in the scene. This summer, after helping my daughters each make one, I made a fairy garden for myself. (I couldn’t resist the temptation!) I also made one to give as a gift for my grandparents’ wedding anniversary. They were all fun to make and each one turned out to be very special. Start by Choosing a Container For the fairy gardens that I created, I used tin planters, a ceramic bowl, and a…

Choosing a Bottle of Wine
Trying to choose a bottle of wine to have with a nice dinner can really be a challenge. Fortunately, I have found some ways to make this process less of a chore and a bit more fun. Here are a few general guidelines to follow that can help you find some good wine without spending too much time in the isle. Wine Regions Learn about a few good wine-making areas. Picnics Made Easy
When the weather warms up one of my favorite things to do is put together a picnic. Picnics really can be easy. They can be quick to put together and casual for everyone to enjoy that way it does not feel like a big event that takes too long to prepare for. Usually our picnics end up right outside in the backyard. Sometimes we take our picnics to local parks. My favorite picnic idea is to pick up hot wings at the local food truck and then take them to a park to enjoy while watching the river. We pretty much always have ingredients for sandwiches on hand,…

Caveman Bridge East View
I really love this view of the Caveman Bridge in Grants Pass, Oregon. This photo was taken on a nice cool morning from the Seventh Street Bridge. If you are interested in capturing a similar photo I recommend timing your shot between the traffic on the bridges. For one reason, it is nice to see the bridge without being distracted by vehicles in the photo. Also, as traffic went by behind me on the Seventh Street Bridge, I could feel the bridge move under me. My camera was set at 18mm, f7.1, 1/320, ISO 100. ***Update***For the morning of the balloon festival this year (2019) there was very little wind and…
